First Days Project
Launched in 2013 by the South Asian American Digital Archive, The First Days Project shares stories of immigrants' and refugees' first experiences in the United States. The First Days Project offers an opportunity for younger people to interview older people, and vice-versa, about their first days after immigrating to the United States. Anyone is welcome to contribute.
Talk Story Talk Place
Created by FORM follows FUNCTION and implemented by the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive (LACA) and WAPOW, #TalkStoryTalkPlace is an intergenerational participatory documentary project about places using an oral place-based history method. The project is a means for youth to engage with older adults to help preserve stories about places in their neighborhoods.
Walk the Talk
Walk the Talk is a biannual parade launched by the LA Poverty Department brings Skid Row to life with performances along the parade route that pay tribute to neighborhood initiatives and the people whose contributions to the community call for a big, blaring celebration.
Pop-Up TeAda
Pop-Up TeAda! creates original work as an ensemble, builds community through gathering and sharing stories, and performs in pop-up theater events around L.A. TeAda Productions' Artists Alison De La Cruz, Kristina Wong, Shyamala Moorty, Shruti Purkayastha, and Mariella Saba created Pop-Up TeAda performances which include storytelling, movement, and comedy.
